Katong and Joo Chiat are home to the Peranakans — the Straits Chinese — whose culture blends Chinese, Malay and European traditions. Walk past the famous pastel terrace houses of Koon Seng Road, step into a Peranakan shop, and taste your way through the neighbourhood: Nyonya kueh, a bowl of Katong laksa and old-school kaya toast with kopi.
Good to know: the tastings make a light meal. Tell us about any food allergies when you book.
